Youth Ministries
Calvary invites youth to actively engage with God and our world through the use of our head, heart and hands.
Building a geniune faith that will last.
The youth ministry at Calvary Baptist Church invites middle school and high school students to actively engage with God and our world through the use of our head, heart and hands. We partner with parents and and caregivers, to support and resource families as they lead in the spiritual development of their youth.
Where is the Youth Lounge?
The Youth Lounge is located in the basement below the Sanctuary in Education Building 1 (EB1). Take the stairs down on either side of the back hallway behind the Sanctuary. Sunday Bible Study, Wednesday evening events, and other youth activities all take place in the Youth Lounge.
What do youth do in Sunday Bible Study?
Sunday Bible Study (Sunday School) is a small-group Bible study organized by grade. Youth study Bible stories, talk about current events, and discuss faith.
My youth wants to go on a trip, but we can't afford it. Can Calvary help?
We believe that money should never be an impediment to youth attending a retreat, trip, or event. If you need financial assistance, please contact Chuck Powell, Minister to Families with Youth and Missions.
What do youth do on Sunday nights?
This time includes dinner, a “check-in” time, prayer, as well as a lesson with discussion time. Our Sunday evenings are casual and offer a great connecting point for new students.
Calvary is committed to providing a safe and caring environment for all children and young people to thrive, learn, and grow. Please review our minor protection policies to learn more our commitment to ensure children and youth are cared for and protected.
Sundays:
FOOD BOXES - Families receive Food Boxes filled with a ham, assorted canned and boxed goods, bread, milk, juice, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, beans, rice, and more. Food boxes will be organized and filled on Friday, December 12th. Food boxes will be given out on Saturday, December 13th - Christmas Project Delivery Day.
CHILDREN'S GIFT WISH LISTS - Each year, we partner with local schools and the High Street Neighborhood Center to provide personal wish list gifts for the Christmas Project children. These new gifts are purchased by Calvary families from a "wish list" created by the Christmas Project families. The wish list will be available the first week of November. New gifts are brought unwrapped to Calvary to be checked and wrapped by November 23rd. Gifts will be given/delivered to families on Saturday, December 13th.
CHRISTMAS STORE - Families are invited to pick up their Christmas food boxes, wish list gifts, and also "shop" through the donated "gently used" toys, clothing, and household items. Starting in October and running through December, donations may be brought to the EB2 basement (items will be organized and sorted). On Christmas Project Day, Saturday, December 13th, families will be escorted through the Christmas Store (set up in the fellowship hall) to shop. There will also be a refreshment table set up on Christmas Project Day for families to have both sweet and savory snacks while they shop.
PRAYER ROOM - On Calvary Christmas Project day, Saturday, December 13th, families will have the opportunity to share prayer requests with prayer team members when they come to pick up their food boxes, wish list gifts, and "store" items. The prayer team invites each family to spend time discussing their prayer concerns, needs, and blessings. The prayer team continues their prayers of support throughout the year. Families will be mailed cards throughout the year and are invited to other activities sponsored by Calvary.
The Calvary Christmas Project depends on the many volunteers and the generosity of our congregation. Please consider volunteering your time, talents, and financial gifts to support this year's Calvary Christmas Project.
