Youth D-Now Weekend Retreat

Youth Discipleship Now Weekend Retreat, Nov. 6-8

Youth in grades 6th-12th are invited to Calvary's annual D-Now Retreat on November 6-8th. Youth will gather on Friday evening and kick off a weekend full of worship, music, games, Bible study, food, a mission project and so much laughter and fun. Students will stay at local Calvary family host homes with a small group. Please register here by October 14 so supplies and accommodations can be arranged. Cost is $75. LOGOS Fall Potluck

11:30am in the Fellowship Hall

Those 60 and older are invited to the LOGOS Fall Potluck on Thursday, September 24 beginning at 11:30AM in Fellowship Hall. There will be lots of great food and fellowship. We will also have a special speaker, Meredith Mays Ward, presenting information about cyber threats and safe online practices for older adults (see more details below). Cyber threats are constantly evolving, but a few simple habits can go a long way toward staying safe online. Meredith Ward shares information designed for older adults that covers common scams, phishing emails and text messages, password security, identity theft and safe use of smartphones, computers and social media. You will leave with easy-to-follow tips and greater confidence for recognizing threats, protecting your information and navigating the digital world safely.

Fall Spiritual Formation Retreat, "The Power of Story"

Storytelling is essential to faith as it preserves tradition, shapes identity, and builds community. Make plans to gather as we explore stories of faith and methods of storytelling at the Fall Spiritual Formation Retreat, "The Power of Story: Learning How to Listen to and Tell Stories of Faith," Adults of all ages are invited and encouraged to invite friends, family, and neighbors. We welcome Dr. John Inscore Essick, pastor and BSK Theological Seminary professor, as our plenary speaker. CWM Fall Bible Studies

Women's Bible Studies - Fall 2026

The Women's Ministry invites ladies of all ages to the Bible study, Heaven: When Faith Becomes Sight by Jennifer Rothschild. This video-based study explores the subject of Heaven from a biblical perspective. Both the Sunday evening group and the Monday morning group will be doing this study so choose whichever option works best for your schedule.

The Monday morning study meets from 10:45AM–12PM in Rachel’s Room, on the 3rd floor of EB2, September 14 – October 26. Sherry Johnson facilitates this study and a Zoom option is available. Wednesday Adult Bible Study begins August 19, 4PM or 6PM

Ancient Truth: A Survey of the Wisdom of the Hebrew Scriptures

Where does one go for wisdom? We have plenty of options in these days. We have more information available to us than in any time in human history. Not only has more data been archived but with the help of internet search engines, we can access it with ease. The trouble often comes with what to make of the information we are receiving. AI tools are developing that give us a summary of information at times; but they fail at providing anything amounting to real meaning. Making meaning of the data, interpreting the information in ways that make it useful to our lives is the function of wisdom. Where does one go for wisdom?

In our Wednesday Bible studies this fall, we will turn to some of the oldest written texts available to us—the wisdom literature of the Hebrew Bible—in our search for every day, practical wisdom. We will spend the fall surveying the books of Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Songs from the Old Testament. (You might want to read ahead this summer!) We will offer two sessions again this fall beginning August 19: 4PM in the Fireside Room and 6PM in Fellowship Hall.
