Our Family Missions Story
We’re the Boatmans: Phil, Nancy, Carter (age 8) and Laney (age 5). We went on our first family mission trip this summer and had a blast!
It’s important to our family to not only talk about helping others but to take part in helping others. The Asheville family mission trip gave our family this opportunity. Typically, we go on family vacation in July. This year we still went on our family vacation- to Hilton Head Island for five days and then headed to Asheville for five days.
We worked together fixing up the Black Mountain Children’s Home and the Veterans Restoration House. Phil and Carter helped build shelves, and Nancy worked on landscaping at the children’s home. We all three painted at the veteran’s house. Laney was well taken care of by Ms. Ann and Ms. Emma.
Aside from working together, it was so nice to get to know other church members and socialize together. We had the best time on the ropes course, pool, river adventure and dinners.
We highly recommend the family mission trips for all church members from babies to senior adults. There will be a place for you! Join us next time.
